She has been able to utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy and Mindfulness with her clients to guide them to a path of success and growth. Working with Project Impact, a program from the SDSU Research Foundation, Roxanne offered free therapeutic services for children in their families in a school-based setting. During this time Roxanne was able to help clients through individual, family and group sessions. It was through this setting and working with the elementary school-aged children that Roxanne solidified her passion for working with children.
Roxanne prefers to offer treatment based on individual needs and values of the clients through an unbiased and accepting atmosphere. By utilizing a play-therapy approach, Roxanne offers a therapeutic environment unique to each client and their life’s story. She believes that a client is never too young to engage in self-exploration, healing and discovery and never too old to play.
Born and raised in San Diego, Roxanne has a great passion for this community. Outside of the office, Roxanne enjoys her time in true San Diego fashion by hiking, trying new restaurants and visiting the beach. A large believer of the importance of self-care, she likes to encourage others to engage in things that make them happy and involved in their life, whatever that may look like.
